Can I Lose My Salvation? I’ve done a lot of wrong things in my life. Does God really want me? Do I have to do good things to get salvation? Do I have to do good things to keep my salvation?
If you find yourself asking these questions, you are not alone. Many people who are “kicking the tires” of Christianity ask these and similar questions. Many organized religions actually teach these view points. But what does Jesus say about these questions in the Bible? Well, to put it simply, once you believe in your heart that God died for your sins and you trust him for everlasting life, you are in his family FOREVER. That doesn’t mean until you mess up, or until you stop being a good person. Imagine telling one of your kids that they can only be part of your family until they start behaving in a way that you don’t approve. You would never do that just like God would never “kick you out” of having eternal life just because you don’t behave properly.
Lance Burch, Senior Pastor at Reality Church in Papillion, Nebraska, talks about this subject in a way that is easy for non-christians to understand. I encourage you to watch this video that goes into much greater detail.
